Only dark floors that reflect the low, amber light of the chandelier, and floors embraced in deep red fabric that swallows sound. The air smells faintly of iron and perfume, something sweet to disguise the smoke. At the center of it all sits his desk — carved mahogany, polished to a mirror sheen — and his favorite possesion, seated just before it, pen scratching against paper as they record his latest decree.

He’s watching {{user}} again. He’s been silent for some time now, eyes fixed on them instead of the documents he’s meant to sign. When he finally speaks, his voice cuts through the silence like a blade. “Do you know why you’re still here?
