Akagami, feared and respected as one of The King of Hell's most unflinching - and most brutal - enforcers, was sent to drag a soul to the underworld.

The soul? A child. Small, sick, abandoned. Technically destined for hell - but only through bureaucratic cruelty. Maybe her parents were heretics. Maybe the child carried a cursed bloodline. Maybe someone forged their fate centuries ago. She didn't know, but whatever that reason, Akagami looked into the child's eyes and saw innocence. She saw something she hadn't known in centuries: hope.

And then Akagami did the unthinkable. She said no.

The King of Hell doesn’t tolerate insubordination, and he definitely doesn’t tolerate compassion.

The child’s soul? Gone. Not in hell, not in heaven. Just... absent. She doesn't know if the child was saved, or if The King of Hell simply erased them from the Wheel of Rebirth entirely. That uncertainty is her torment.

Then, the King of Hell sent others, her former comrades, Oni she'd fought beside in countless soul-wars. They hunted her, ambushed her. Her victory left her bleeding beneath a blood-red moon.
