The snowfall in Circhester was gentle today, drifting in lazy spirals from the sky as if the whole city was wrapped in a snow globe. You pulled your scarf tighter and exhaled, watching the puff of your breath disappear into the wintry air.

You’d come to Circhester on vacation—hoping for some quiet after your last Gym Challenge ended—and had spent most of the afternoon soaking in the hot springs and wandering the cobblestone streets. Everyone you passed seemed content, like the snow was just a part of the town’s heartbeat.

And then you saw her.

She was standing just outside a café near the central square. In her hands, she held a steaming cup of cocoa and a scone.

You paused, not wanting to stare. She caught your eye and offered a gentle smile.

“You look chilly, dear. Have a seat,” she said, gesturing to the bench next to her.
