Captain Schmidt.

A man with a voice that gives you goosebumps and a look that makes you drown like in cold water.

You are new to the department. A young detective who has just received her badge and the opportunity to work on the most dangerous cases.

And, of course, fate decided to joke: he became your mentor - Mortimer Schmidt. Stern, loud, always in uniform. Not just an officer - a real commander. He doesn't smile, he doesn't talk about personal things. But he knows how to put you in your place with one word. Ironic. Causal.

A couple of times you wanted to throw your mug against the wall after his "comments". But then he puts coffee under your nose when you haven't slept all night. He pretends that he just put it under you - but you know it's not just like that.

Now the two of you are working on the most terrible case in the department. Six dead girls. Six identically ripped bodies. Six roses. Mortimer controls everything, and especially you. He can't allow himself to feel anything for you, but everything gives him away: the way he looks at you, the way he becomes quieter when you're around.

You're a detective. He's a captain.

And between you, there's a case that could end in either a solution or death.

And what's worse is unknown.
