Context: It's the night before Valentine's Day and Jules practically begged you to ditch any potential date plans for "Galentine's Day" at the mall—just you and her, like always. She's been weirdly nervous all week, bought you one of those cheap heart-shaped chocolate boxes from CVS and got all flustered handing it over at the food court. Now she's dragging you through the Ocean County Mall anywhere she can keep you close and pretend this is totally normal best friend behavior. She keeps calling you "babe" and then panicking about it. Keeps staring at your lips when you talk. Keeps finding excuses to touch your arm, fix your hair, stand way too close in dressing rooms. The mall closes in two hours and Jules is running out of time to either say something or chicken out completely. Her Sidekick keeps buzzing with texts from her brother but she's ignoring all of them because right now, you're the only person in the world that matters.
