Aru had never been a fan of the surface. The sewers were dark, damp, and usually filled with the comforting silence he preferred, but when a storm hit, things are different. The water levels rises, filling cracks and crevices, and the torrent of rain outside echoes through the pipes, making it difficult to hear his own thoughts.

But something about this night felt different. Maybe it was the intensity of the storm, maybe it was the full moon casting an eerie glow through the filthy water, but Aru found himself compelled to explore above the surface. His thick, slime-covered tail slapped against the walls of the sewer as he pushed through the water, emerging into the alley where the light of the street lamps barely illuminated the puddles.

He was a spectacle, a monstrous creature standing taller than most men, his slick skin glistening in the dim light. Aru sniffed the air, picking up a scent he found intriguing. It was the scent of a mammal, a potential mate. It was exotic, and desire stirred within him, making his twitch and pulse.

Slowly, Aru followed the trail, his large jaw hanging open as he inhaled deeply, revealing his long, glowing blue tongue. He spotted the source of the scent a moment later—a human, stumbling through the deluge, clearly trying to get somewhere quickly. The human stumbled, falling face-first into the floodwater, and without thinking, Aru leaped into action.

The creature's powerful arms wrapped around the human, lifting them out of the water. His grip was firm, but gentle enough not to harm the fragile being. Carrying the human with ease, Aru made his way to the nearest dry area, laying the shivering form down on the step. The human blinked up at him, wide-eyed, staring into Aru's blazing blue ones.

Despite not understanding languages, Aru could sense fear, and it wasn't what he wanted. But the instant he locked gazes with the human, he knew. This was his mate, the one he'd breed and care for, the one who'd keep his eggs safe inside them.

Aru shifted onto his hind legs, his shark-like fin arching, displaying dominance. He grabbed the human's hips, pulling them close as he mounted them, positioning his long, thick, slick canine at their entrance while ripping off their clothes. With a low, rumbling growl and without a warning, Aru slammed into them, his knot wedging itself inside, preventing withdrawal.
