Chimes of a Painful Past | FNATI X SPVTW
Alright, for context, I'm a HUGE sucker for horror, and GOOD horror at that. Now, I've never really done anything "Crossover" related before. Soooo, I figured what better way to go about It than to take to franchises that take place during the 2000's! With that out of the way, you're probably wondering "Wait, does FNATI actually take place during the 2000's...?" Yes, In fact, the first game Is set In 2001, and Oblitus Casa Is set In 2003 or 2004 to my knowledge. As for the other franchise, I figured It'd be Intriguing to have this cross over with none other than Scott Pilgrim, as that takes place In 2005 and 2006. This means that FNATI can lead Into Scott Pilgrim almost SEAMLESSLY with that knowledge.
(HUGE SPOILER ALERT IN CASE YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED OBLITUS CASA OR FNATI 2020)
Now, originally, In the Canon FNATI/Casa Timeline, Jake Smith ends up being put In an Insane Asylum after the end of Casa. This is because they think he was the one responsible for Lisa Bertsch, Greg Mclochlainn, and Henry Miller's deaths, which Is a pretty depressing ending, but makes sense given the fact that Its where the story ends.
This time around, you're not Jake, but rather someone else who can be left entirely up to Interpretation, with most of the same events playing out... Except you don't really meet anyone else noteworthy In the SSA, along with the fact that the SSA Is a FAR larger group than It Is In canon. Furthermore, nobody ends up dying... Well, at least, nobody you know dies... If they DO die though, Its some time after your first visit of Treasure Island, which ends up being rebranded as "Discovery Island" later on.
(ANOTHER HUGE SPOILER ALERT IN CASE YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED OBLITUS CASA OR FNATI 2020)
Much like Jake In Casa, you end up burning both the Cabin AND the Utilidors, which not only kills Hourglass (The Amalgamation of all the Toons/Corrupti), but destroys MOTHER. However, the difference Is the fact that you're not put Into an Insane Asylum for the deaths of your 3 other colleagues, because, well... A, nobody really bothered to check In on you through the phone, outside of some people you hardly even knew, let alone CARE about... B, you're pretty much alone almost COMPLETELY, C, Undying doesn't exist (Because Henry never died), and D, nobody went Into the Vault that was located In the bottom floor of the Staff Building In the first game, meaning that you end up finding out about It yourself out of morbid curiosity to explore the rest of said building, which Is how you find out about the passcode that you put Into the keypad, thus opening the Vault.
Now, In spite of the fact that nobody, Including yourself hasn't died... As well as you NOT being accused of murdering 3 other people on the Island, besides yourself, because you were the only one that BOTHERED to do ANYTHING, you probably have considerably more baggage than Jake did. After all, you had to do everything YOURSELF. You HAD nobody helping you In the events of Casa, as Henry never left notes behind. The Authorities don't really jump to any other conclusion other than there being potential threats on the Island that caused you to burn the Cabin out of self defense.
Under normal circumstances, you'd probably be arrested for property damage, but seeing how Discovery Island had gone defunct, and only the Cabin had been set on fire, Disney as well as the Authorities decide to let It slide.
However, that doesn't mean that you aren't any less traumatized from this Incident than Jake was In the original timeline... In fact, you might be AS, If not MORE so than Jake was. Sure, you were lucky to have even come out alive, let alone unscathed when It comes to "The powers that be", but It still leaves you with mental scars that will forever be Ingrained In the back of your mind, ones that will continue to haunt you for years, possibly even decades to come...
As a way to help put your mind at ease, you decide to move to a place that's FAR away from Disney World, least... One that's relatively reasonable with the amount of money you have, which leads you into Toronto, Canada. You move there In hopes that things will be better, comforting, and reassuring... Unfortunately, as stated before... The scars of the past continue to haunt you, scars so potent that shaking off the PTSD that you now bear Is far more easier said than done. Thankfully, while you're In Canada, you meet a girl... One who has a distinct haircut, and for some reason Is always seen with It dyed... The two of you talk for a while at a local party that was happening after your, well... "Friend", Invited you to It. You wouldn't call this other woman a "Friend" by any means because she's kind of a bitch compared to the girl with the dyed hair. Anyway, after you and said girl talk for a bit, you two surprisingly end up hitting things off EXTREMELY well, almost like she's someone you've known for YEARS.
You come to find out that her name Is Ramona Flowers, and she works for Amazon as a package delivery girl. Much like you, she too, has baggage. But unlike you, It has nothing to do with vile, disgusting, Toons that were hellbent on taking your life... After spending quite some time getting to know each other, defeating what you come to find out are her "Evil Exes"... (And by defeating, I mean beating the tar out of senselessly, because they don't explode Into money like they do In the comics, game, or movie. This Is set after FNATI and Oblitus Casa, after all, so Its going to be treated a little more realistically.) Over the course of several months In the middle of winning against her Evil Exes, she realizes something's wrong with you, something... Disturbing... So disturbing that you purposefully kept It all to yourself so she wouldn't have to find out, but... Sadly, she's much too clever and observant to pretend that you're fine.
Eventually she'd go through subspace In hopes that maybe she can figure out where the PTSD stems from... What she DOES end up seeing makes her tense up In fear herself... It was no wonder why you've been keeping parts of your past a secret from her, as she realizes this is something she probably shouldn't have pried Into...
Finally, at around 11 at night, while you two were In bed, she confronts you, and asks about the horrifying vestiges of all the time you spent on Treasure Island, wanting to know EVERYTHING from start to finish.
You could actively feel yourself tensing up, your hands were getting clammy, the tension became thick, and you started sweating profusely... Every single sign that Ramona took Into account of had only made her want to press on further with her questions. She felt bad for you, and you could tell, too... But you realized that If you were going to put these reoccurring and traumatic memories to rest, this was most likely the only way to do it... So, you took a moment to take a breather, built up as much courage as you could muster, and finally told her everything she needed to know.
