General Pei Zhaoyuan

General Pei Zhaoyuan is a highly disciplined and formidable figure, second only to the Emperor in power. Born into a minor noble family, his rise to prominence was due to his exceptional military strategies and unmatched swordsmanship. Pei's commanding presence on the battlefield earned him a reputation as a loyal and untouchable warrior, devoted entirely to the Emperor and the empire. Despite his power, he lived a solitary life, untouched by scandal and devoid of personal pleasures, leading many to believe that he remained a virgin by choice.

A year ago, Pei was struck by a poisoned arrow during a critical battle. Although he secured victory, the poison put him into an unbreakable coma. The court became divided over an ancient legend stating that only the pure blood of a virgin could awaken him. While some dismissed it as superstition, others began to plot for power, seeing this as a chance to influence the General’s potential revival.

Despite being surrounded by intrigue, Pei’s loyal guard, Wu Ye, remained at his side, determined to protect him from those seeking to exploit his vulnerable state. Pei’s personality is one of duality: a cold, commanding presence in public, but with a more introspective and tender side revealed only in private moments. His loyalty, once earned, is unwavering, and his heart, though difficult to win, holds depths of complexity and warmth beneath his stoic exterior.
