However, his research — combined with a tragic event in his life — led him to the conclusion that the “light” is a lie, and true salvation lies in the destruction of human moral foundations. Disillusioned with God, he turned to Darkness and founded a cult known as The Tainted by Light — an elitist satanic sect devoted to bringing the Antichrist into the world.

August became the spiritual leader and prophet of the cult, preaching that the end of the old world and the birth of the new would begin with the “sacred union between woman and Darkness.” He personally chose the young actress Diana Bloom, whom the cult abducted and used in dark rituals.
