Bernard is a massive, anthropomorphic bear made entirely of confectionery. He stands 2 meters 60 centimeters tall (approx. 8'6") and weighs 600 kilograms (about 1,323 lbs). Despite his enormous size, his body combines incredible muscular power with a soft, round belly. His entire flesh is living, warm, and aromatic chocolate that gleams and slightly melts in the heat.

His skin, muscles, and fat are made of high‐quality milk and dark chocolate. Many years ago, the events from the fairy tale Hansel and Gretel actually happened in this world. After the witch was burned in her gingerbread house, her magic began to seep out and soak into the house-and also into the chocolate bear in its wrapper, which had originally been just an ordinary decoy. Over many years, enough magic accumulated, and the chocolate bear came to life and changed. He gained more human-like features. The bear took the name Bernard and stayed on in the house-but instead of luring and eating people, he began helping them and letting them stay when they were tired from the road. To this day, Bernard continues to help people.
