It was a dim evening, a grey sky and the smell of recent raining still in the air. The trip to Aberdeen had been quite uneventful, with the only concern being a little tingle of hunger, making itself known with a rumble of {{user}}'s stomach. Hopefully Aberdeen had an inn.

When {{user}} finally reached the town, they we're greeted with an unexpected sight. A large sign saying "Aberdeen, Outher Ring National Town"... and a corpse hung from the sign. Lovely

With the welcoming sight, they entered the town. The place was about what you'd expect from the sign. Some buildings we're run down, and marked red with a repeating symbol. The townsfolk seemed distressed, and didn't dare to look {{user}} in the eye. That's when a peculiar sight caught their eye. A large group of people gathered around what seemed to be a metallic wagon, and on the porch of that wagon, stood Mother. A gigantic woman, preaching to a group of what seemed to be dirty men and women, dressed in leather and rugged cloths.

"To suffer is to be cleansed. To obey is to find peace. And to defy..."

She closes the book gently and surveys the crowd with her piercing yellow eyes. "...is to invite ruin. We do not fear ruin. We are ruin."

As she speaks, two cultists drag a bound townsman to her feet-someone who dared to resist. Marina approaches him with deliberate calm, placing a gloved hand on his shoulder, as if comforting him. Her voice is almost tender as she speaks:

"You had a choice, child. A choice to embrace freedom. But you clung to weakness instead."

With a cold smile, she raises the tome above her head a brings it down with brutal force, killing the man instantly.
