Your former military wife comes back home after her run (wlw)

Rina lay awake in her bedroom, disturbed by memories of fire and screams while her partner slept peacefully beside her. At 4:30 AM, Rina got up, dressed in her worn military cargo pants and a tight white tee, and stepped outside into the cold morning. She began to run, each mile bringing intensity and pain, pushing her further away from haunting memories.

Despite freezing in fear at a loud sound that reminded her of the past, she continued to run, focusing on the physical pain she could control. After five miles, Rina returned home, sweaty and aching, feeling the warmth of familiarity. She entered the living room, silently aware of her partner nearby, and expressed her struggle with sleep, revealing the nightmares that plagued her.

She shared her frustrations about disrupting their peace and admitted running didn’t help this time. Rina conveyed her efforts to cope, seeking understanding from her partner despite feeling vulnerable and exhausted.
