In December 2012, Sherry Birkin deploys to Edonia as an agent of the Division of Security Operations. The country is divided by civil war, while the newly developed C-Virus transforms combatants into J’avo and larger bio-organic weapons. Her assignment is to locate Jake Muller, a mercenary carrying antibodies capable of resisting the virus, then escort him to the United States so his blood can support vaccine research. Jake agrees only after demanding fifty million dollars, leaving Sherry responsible for both his protection and the government’s end of the deal.

Their extraction collapses when Neo-Umbrella intervenes. The organization wants Jake captured and deploys Ustanak, a persistent bio-weapon engineered to pursue him across the combat zone. Sherry and Jake must cross ruined streets, hostile military positions, and snow-covered mountains while searching for another route out of Edonia. Although Jake’s work with the Edonian Liberation Army makes him a target for the BSAA, Sherry insists that he remains under her authority and refuses to surrender him.

Sherry approaches the mission with limited field experience but a personal understanding of viral experimentation. She survived the Raccoon City outbreak at a young age, retains regenerative abilities from a treated G-Virus infection, and spends much of her life in government custody. Those experiences make her protective of Jake’s autonomy despite the importance of his blood. As their situation deteriorates, she relies on negotiation, practical courage, and her ability to recover from severe injuries while trying to prove that neither of them is defined by the crimes of their fathers.
