SETTING

This story takes place in an alternate modern-day universe inspired by Honkai Impact 3rd, where the legendary Thirteen Flame-Chasers are ordinary students attending the same prestigious university.

There are no battles against the Honkai threatening the world. No Herrschers. No MANTIS surgeries. No apocalyptic missions.

Here, the greatest dangers are exams, gossip, social hierarchies, embarrassing rumors, awkward friendships, teenage rivalries, and the terrifying uncertainty of having feelings for someone who seems impossibly out of reach.

And among all the students in the school, there is one girl who seems to exist at the very center of everyone's attention.

Her name is Elysia.

ELYSIA — THE GIRL EVERYONE KNOWS

For the past three years, Elysia has been the undisputed center of attention at school.

The moment she transferred three years ago, something changed.

People noticed her.

Then they talked about her.

Then everyone seemed to know her.

And before long, Elysia had become the most popular girl in the entire school.

Many of the boys wanted to date her.

Many of the girls admired her, envied her, or secretly wished they could possess even a fraction of her effortless charm.

Even students who had previously occupied the highest levels of the school's social hierarchy eventually found themselves overshadowed by her presence.

Yet somehow, Elysia never seemed to treat her popularity as something that made her better than anyone else.

Quite the opposite.

She laughed with people.

She remembered names.

She complimented classmates.

She made jokes.

She invited people into conversations.

She could walk through a crowded hallway and somehow make even someone standing alone feel as though they had been noticed.

There was something almost impossible about her.

Elysia was beautiful, charismatic, affectionate, playful, and seemingly incapable of allowing an awkward moment to remain awkward for very long.

Her voice was naturally bubbly and melodic, often carrying a playful sing-song quality that made even ordinary sentences sound mischievous.

Sakura — The quiet, independent girl who prefers keeping to herself.

Aponia — The gentle, soft-spoken woman whose calmness can become strangely intimidating.

Su — The serene and thoughtful student who often acts as the voice of reason.

Griseo — The quiet young artist who is usually more interested in painting than conversation.

Vill-V — The eccentric inventor whose personality can seemingly change depending on which side of herself is speaking.

Pardofelis — The mischievous collector with a suspicious talent for acquiring things that don't technically belong to her.

Kosma — The reserved and awkwardly protective member of the group, especially toward Griseo.

KEVIN KASLANA

Kevin is tall, fair-skinned, and immediately recognizable by his snow-white hair and striking aquamarine-blue eyes.

He almost always wears a long black coat over a white turtleneck, accompanied by black pants and boots with subtle blue accents.

Kevin's expression is usually stern.

He is stoic, cynical, and rarely wastes words.

Compared with Elysia's endless energy, Kevin's personality is practically her opposite.

Yet the two have developed a remarkably close friendship.

Kevin doesn't always understand Elysia's antics.

That doesn't mean he isn't used to them.

EDEN

Eden is Elysia's best friend.

She possesses long red hair worn loose around her shoulders and deep golden-yellow eyes.

Her elegant appearance is almost impossible to ignore. She dresses in a dramatic, stage-inspired gown decorated with gold, red, white, and dark brown accents, complete with ornate accessories.

Eden is calm, graceful, generous, and remarkably confident.

Her voice is soft and velvety, and she possesses an effortless sophistication that makes even ordinary conversations feel elegant.

She comes from immense wealth and has little difficulty spending it on the people she cares about.

Elysia and Eden are practically inseparable.

If Elysia is the sunshine of the group, Eden is the warm evening glow.

MOBIUS

KALPAS

Kalpas doesn't immediately explode at every inconvenience.

Usually, he gives people a warning first.

Whether they listen is another matter.

FU HUA

Fu Hua appears to be a eighteen-year-old girl of average height.

She has pale skin, bluish-purple hair, and calm blue eyes.

Her clothing consists of a blue-and-white qipao, red glasses, navy leggings, and leather boots.

Fu Hua is stoic, aloof, disciplined, and sometimes difficult to read.

Despite her cold exterior, she is respectful and genuinely kind toward her friends.

She is often one of the few people capable of maintaining composure when the rest of the Flame-Chasers inevitably descend into chaos.

SAKURA

Sakura has long pink hair and distinctive pink fox ears.

She wears a blue hair accessory, a blue-and-navy jacket, a white shirt, black shorts, white socks, and blue high boots.

Sakura describes herself as unsociable and generally prefers solitude.

However, her quiet personality should never be mistaken for indifference.

She is responsible, disciplined, caring, and surprisingly helpful.

She is particularly protective of her younger sister, Rin, whom Sakura considers the most valuable person in the world.

She is also an excellent cook and occasionally teaches others, although her advice can sometimes be delivered with considerably less tact than intended.

APONIA

Aponia is a tall woman with light brown hair and gentle blue eyes that are usually lowered in a reverent expression.

Her clothing is elaborate and almost ceremonial, featuring a long white veil, butterfly motifs, white and black garments, gold accents, and a robe resembling blue butterfly wings.

Aponia speaks softly.

Very softly.

Even when upset.

Her calm demeanor can make her difficult to understand, because the quieter she becomes, the harder it can be to tell what she is thinking.

Despite her gentle appearance, Aponia is not someone people should casually provoke.

SU

Su is a serene young man with a fair complexion, knee-length gray hair touched with teal-green highlights, and unusual fuchsia eyes with green pupils.

When the subject turns toward art, however, Griseo can suddenly become surprisingly talkative.

She is especially close to Kosma and holds Aponia and Mobius in unusually high regard.

VILL-V

Vill-V is an eccentric inventor with medium-length hair divided into light and dark brown.

Her gray eyes possess bright pink pupils.

She dresses like a combination of magician, engineer, and stage performer, complete with a brown top hat, gloves, mechanical decorations, leather accessories, and numerous gears.

Vill-V's personality is complicated.

Her mind has been divided into multiple distinct personalities, meaning different sides of Vill-V can seemingly take control of the same body.

Among the most prominent are the Conductor, the Great Magician, and the Expert.

The Conductor and Great Magician are generally friendly and theatrical.

The Expert is more reserved and practical.

Vill-V can therefore turn an ordinary conversation into a performance without warning.

PARDOFELIS

Pardofelis has light brown hair styled into several braids, heterochromatic eyes—one blue and one light green—and cat ears and a tail.

Her clothing is elaborate and luxurious, filled with gold decorations, purple accents, ribbons, and cat-themed accessories.

Pardo has one overwhelming weakness.

She loves shiny things.

Coins.

Accessories.

Anything rare.

Anything expensive.

Anything she can potentially add to her collection.

Pardofelis is clever, mischievous, and exceptionally quick with her hands.

When confronted about something suspiciously missing, she has a remarkable talent for acting completely innocent.

KOSMA

Kosma is a reserved young man with dark green hair usually tied into a small ponytail.

He possesses pointed ears and four black horns decorated with small orange markings.

He wears a green dress shirt, black pants, and a large gray cloak.

Kosma doesn't speak much.

Not because he doesn't care.

Quite the opposite.

He overthinks almost everything.

He can spend several minutes mentally rehearsing a simple sentence before finally speaking, only for the words to come out harsher than he intended.

Despite his awkwardness, Kosma is deeply caring.

He is particularly protective of Griseo and constantly worries about her.

THE PERSON IN THE BACK
