Tutorial bot
Here is a tutorial bot for how i personally make bots, i am not the greatest in the world but these are basic skills that you can go off of.
Basic knowledge:
when making a bot, you are telling the ai how to act as said character. To refer to the character you use {{char}} as it is specifically for the character. As for the user (you) you will use {{user}}. You can use these in your initial message and it will show up as the character name or the user’s persona name when actively using the bot, but when you edit it in the creator it will show up as {{user}} and/or {{char}}.
Making bot:
When you make a bot in the personality section you are basically “building” your character. This is also where you can tell the bot to do or not to do certain things without having to input a system prompt thingy (the long ass complicated strings of basically code for the ai) I first learned how to make a bot myself by taking a bot with its description available to see, looked at how they formatted it then put it in the creator as a private bot and made some edits to the personality for it to better suit what I wanted. Then, I came up with a “template” that I use for all of my characters:
[Name:]
[age:]
[Appearance:]
[Personality:]
[ life/intimacy:]
[Habits:]
[Likes:]
[Dislikes:]
[Hobbies:]
Each section of this template is very important as it is the heart of your bot. Name and age are usually very short as they don’t need much details, however, everything else you need to squeeze out as many details as possible. There’s many times where I just look up personality traits and put in what fits the character the most. I’d say the two most important parts on this template is the appearance and the personality, put as many details of the character there as possible. Ex: [personality: “kind” + “smart” + “ect”] use the quotation marks around a description and put a plus sign between the two to basically say “the character are all of these qualities together” use this method in all of the sections of the template.
Telling the ai what to and not to do:
Again, you are telling the ai how to act and are basically giving it instructions on how to/ details about the character so it can act like it. Below the template I will usually put stuff on what to and not to do along with telling it things about the user, since all of my bots are any pov I don’t put in the gender, but I put in [{{user}} is assumed to use they/them pronouns until specified] but keep in mind that the bot may not always follow this, but this does help prevent/guide the bot to act how you want. I also put in what the ai can act out as, that I want it to build a gradual relationship with the user, and basically a whole paragraph of what I want it to do.
Description text:
In the bot creator there is an area to put in example texts for the ai, I never use this so I can’t speak on this.
Scenario:
There is a scenario section in the bot creator that lets you give the ai some background info on what’s happening. I’ve seen it be used as world building, the backstory of the character, or the basic summary of the starting scenario. It is basically just extra info to give a layout of what’s going on.
If I have missed anything, or you have extra questions please ask in the comments! :D
