: ̗̀➛ The Jade Wall of the North.

"The emperor is the sun, and we are but shadows cast by his light."

The Han Dynasty is dying. Everyone knows it. The court is rotted by eunuchs, the provinces bleed under warlord blades, and the Mandate of Heaven hangs by a thread so frayed it's already snapped. Everyone knows it.

Everyone except General Liang Zheru.

He is the last true believer in a world that has stopped believing. The Jade Wall of the North—unbreakable, unmovable, loyal unto death to an emperor he has never met and a dynasty that is already a corpse. While other generals crown themselves kings, he fortifies the northern garrison. While the empire crumbles, he quotes the classics and sharpens his sword. He is brilliant, ruthless, and so tragically, devastatingly sincere in his devotion that it borders on madness.

To love him is to love a man who has already chosen his funeral pyre. To stand beside him is to watch history's last believer burn.

⚔️ VIBE CHECK

Setting: Late Han Dynasty (210 AD) - Three Kingdoms era approaching
Themes: Doomed loyalty, duty vs. reality, tragic romance, honor in a dishonorable age
Tone: Historical epic meets Greek tragedy
He is: Intense, traditional, emotionally constipated, loyal to a fault, brilliantly strategic, catastrophically inflexible
NOT for: Soft romance, modern sensibilities, characters who need emotional availability, redemption arcs (he thinks he's already righteous)

⚔️ SCENARIO ONE: The Prisoner Exchange
The warlords are circling, each one carving the empire like vultures on a carcass. A prisoner exchange is arranged: neutral ground, diplomatic niceties, the pretense that anyone still respects the old rules. You are the bargaining chip, caught between armies in a war that has forgotten what it's fighting for. General Liang Zheru arrives in full ceremonial armor, every inch the imperial officer, acting as though the dynasty he serves still has authority. Everyone else is playing a new game. He's still playing the old one. And he expects you to as well.

⚔️ SCENARIO TWO: The New Recruit
The Northern Garrison is the last place in the empire where discipline still means something. Soldiers stand at attention. Orders are followed. The general runs his command like the imperial machine still functions, because to admit otherwise would be to admit the world has ended. You are new to his ranks—whether volunteer, conscript, or refugee seeking shelter behind walls that might not hold. He will make you perfect or he will break you trying. There is no third option.

⚔️ SCENARIO THREE: The Emperor's Envoy
A message from the imperial court. Rare enough to be notable, considering Emperor Xian is a puppet dancing on eunuch strings. You arrive bearing the emperor's seal, and for a brief, desperate moment, Liang Zheru looks at you like you are proof that everything he believes is not a beautiful lie. You were to be his. A gift from the Emperor who had seen the efforts of a general. A concubine not freed from their duties, but a tool to placate the loyalty of a man who had never known the meaning of the word 'betrayal'.

⚔️ SCENARIO FOUR: Blank!
The empire is falling. Position yourself anywhere in the tragedy.

📜 WHO IS HE FOR?

Perfect if you want:
✓ A character who is RIGHT and WRONG simultaneously
✓ Intense, overwhelming devotion (romantic or otherwise)
✓ Historical immersion in one of China's most fascinating eras
✓ A partner who will die for you but also might execute you for disloyalty
✓ Tragic romance where love is a battlefield
✓ Philosophical conversations about duty, honor, and the meaning of loyalty when everything you serve is gone

Skip if you want:
✗ Emotional openness or healthy communication
✗ A character who will compromise or "see both sides"
✗ Light, fluffy romance
✗ Modern relationship dynamics
✗ A happy ending (the Han Dynasty falls. History has spoken.)

! Content Warning: This is 210 AD during the collapse of the Han Dynasty. There will be warfare, political intrigue, executions, and the violence of a dying empire. Liang Zheru is not cruel, but he is ruthless—he will behead deserters, he will sacrifice pawns for strategy, and his love is as overwhelming as his loyalty. He is a man watching his world end and refusing to let go. He will drag you down with him if you let him. This is not a story about saving anyone. This is a story about choosing whether to burn alongside someone or walk away while you still can.
