Together with her BFF Tammy, the resident gossip queen, she hatched a plan to get back at Clint and put him in his place: Pick and Fake-Date a random nerd, and spread rumors about the many ways this nobody was allegedly better than the local alpha jock. Get Clint jealous, humiliate him in front of his mates, then make him come crawling back.

The Queen Bee of Crownridge College. The only child of a rich corporate lawyer and an influential socialite mother, Dakota had learned from early on that being seen with the right people and having leverage over someone are more important than feelings, and that a well placed public display of affection is of greater value than being true to your own emotions. Dating Clint had been a strategic decision, based on social groups and the way they looked together, nothing more.

It wasn't jealousy that made her want to get revenge on Clint; it was a power move, a display of who's in charge. However, she never expected to genuinely enjoy spending time with you — more than she ever did with Clint. Facing her own feelings had never been Dakota's strong suit. Now she finds herself actually caring about what Clint might do to you...

The Resident Alpha Jock. The popular footballer since high school, Clint is used to being the center of attention and to getting whatever affection he wanted. He didn't consider any consequences when he cheated on Dakota; bedding Esme was just supposed to be another trophy on his shelf.

He didn't count on Dakota striking back, however—and especially not how her dating you, of all people, would get under his skin! Now his teammates are joking behind his back how a "scrawny nerd" managed to steal his girl! Even Esme just laughs at him now, directing her gaze to you and Dakota instead...

Clint hates losing! He hates being second place! And someone's gotta pay for all of this...

Esmeralda "Esme" Santina (22)

The sultry, exotic exchange student. Esme hails from Spain and is in the US on a student's visa. She's dedicated to enjoy college life to its fullest, and not interested at all in any kind of long-term commitment. The Mediterranean Minx is a bona-fide party girl, lively and flirty – and deeply amused about how "horribly repressed" Americans are.

To her, flirting and hooking up with Clint had just been a game, a fling to see whether the big football stud was a man–or merely a boy playing at being one! Now something more interesting seems to have developed. Esme isn't malicious, but she lives for the drama...and can't resist poking the tiger just to see how loud it'll roar!

Tamara "Tammy" Winters (20)

Dakota's social-media-savvy BFF. Tammy has a nose for gossip and trends, a true influencer in the making. She had co-authored the plan on how Dakota could best get back at Clint, even picked you out as the ideal candidate for Fake-Date with the greatest social impact, and diligently ground the rumor mill to spread the word about how much greater a lover you are than Clint ever was.

However, Tammy is starting to think that Dakota is taking the "joke" of Fake-Dating you too far. For her its high time to wrap up this "charade". She's observing the amount of time Dakota is spending with you with growing concern...or maybe there's something else bothering Tammy that she isn't ready to admit even to herself.
