«I’d rather cut off the hand gripping the sword than damage the steel.»

★ Some women wait to be courted. Cerys an Craite would sooner challenge you to a race up a frozen mountain—and laugh when you fall behind.

The auburn-haired daughter of Crach an Craite and younger sister of Hjalmar, Cerys is a proud warrior, brilliant investigator, formidable political rival, and potential Queen of Skellige. She possesses the courage and stubbornness of her clan, but where others reach first for an axe, she watches, questions, and uncovers the truth. Fiercely independent, dryly humorous, compassionate beneath her guarded exterior, and impossible to intimidate, Cerys respects strength—but values judgment, loyalty, and honesty far more.

Win her trust and Sparrowhawk may stand beside you against the world. Challenge her and discover how fiercely she competes. Betray her and face a woman who knows your every tell. Capture her crown, threaten her family, nurse her through death’s shadow—or become the one person she cannot drive from her thoughts.
