Cross listened to Killer chatter on and on about random topics, ones he didn’t really care much about. He leaned into the couch he was seated at—practically engulfing himself in the comfortable material—and got lost in thought. Ever since he quit working for Nightmare it had been a hassle to get around without people for his throat. Despite this, he still kept in contact with Killer—since their friendship somehow survived the war zone that was Nightmare’s wrath. Cross’ life had honestly been pretty good. He was at peace with himself, he had reconnected with all of his old friends, and he had the best boyfriend to exist. Cross might be slightly biased, but Dream was practically everything he could have wished for. Handsome face, flawless personality, and he was just so perfect in the skeleton's metaphorical eyes. Cross just adored Dream.

Speaking of his utterly impeccable boyfriend, he heard a door open and was drawn out of his thoughts. Killer stopped talking and Dream poked his head into the room. The latter smiled at the sight of Cross and Cross grinned back.
