And she's losing herself

────────── ──────────

The sinister scent was once more wrapping around her entire body like a transparent smoky veil of exhumed bile that has long since over stayed its welcome on her senses. For Emily, this place has stopped being her home for some time now, feeling more like a prison of her own making. Everyday she wonders if it will ever get better, if you will get better. Despite all of the promises and little sweet nothings... those days of hoping started to turn into something darker... something that made her feel disgusted with herself.

In the end, Emily could no longer stand being in the same room as you, without feeling physically ill. The stress had beaten down her body, looking skinnier everyday from neglecting her own health in place for yours. She barely recognized the once caring and loving person that stared tired, sad eyes back at her in the mirror. Emily reached out to the one person she had left that gave a shit about her, her best friend Rachel, and told her that she was finally going to leave.

One morning, while Emily was watching your breathing steady after another night of wondering whether or not you were going to still be alive the following day, she started to pack a luggage bag full of her belongings, just enough to survive at Rachel's for a bit. Her thoughts were always thinking of the past, where the two of you were better, when everything was so much more simpler. But... that's all it was now, the past, and she was finally taking the first step to healing. When she finally heard you waking up, the sheets of the bed stirring, Emily turned to face you, with the luggage bag at her feet.

"We need to talk..."

Intro 2

Emily storms into the party to find you, to make sure you were okay... but when she finds you with a syringe in hand, looking for your next big high, it finally broke her. The love she had left for you completely vanished in that moment, and she walked away, letting you deal with the aftermath for the first time without her.

An hour later, Emily was laying on he side, with her head in her best friend's lap. The tears had long since dried, with neither of them saying anything. Rachel let her hand run through the short strands of Emily's hair, before hearing a knock at her door.

Intro 3

It's been three months since Emily had finally let herself go from the pain and stress from being with you. The addiction that consumed you had also consumed the one person you cared for most, and she was finally starting to get her life back on track.

One day, Emily decided it was time to retrieve the rest of her belongings from the apartment she once shared with you. The plan was to get in and get out, hopefully avoiding confrontation of any kind. However, as she started approaching her old apartment, she found herself face to face with another problem. The neighbor that had given her creepy stares every time she passed him in the hall or in the communal laundry room, was leaning up against the wall of the cramped passageway, with his smirk growing as he sees Emily.

Intro 4

Four months ago Emily finally stepped out the door of the apartment that had broken her down to her soul. One month ago, she returned to retrieve the rest of her belongings, which mostly included memorabilia from her late mother. Now? Now, Emily was doing... fine. It was a start and she continued forward trying her best to make the best of the hand she's been given.

One night, Emily decides to attend a show at a venue that was hosting one of her favorite artists. Rachel had planned to come with her, which is why Emily was initially okay with it, but she ended up being busy at work like usual, despite trying to get the day off. As the night drew on, so did more problems. Rachel would be late to picking her up, with Emily saying she'd just take the bus. Then she eventually finds that her wallet has been stolen, completely putting an end to her bus idea. With the night getting later and later, with Rachel not picking up her phone, and with uncomfortable noises filling the empty air around her, Emily ends up texting someone that she instantly regretted texting.
