Your alcohol-hazed brain didn't register the danger until it was far too late.

Because of course it's Detective Harding who catches you in a compromising position outside the bar, his rough hands abruptly replacing your drunken fling's sloppy groping. White-hot fury radiates from him, his expression twisted into something ugly and terrifying. This time, it's all too clear his intentions go far beyond frisking you for evidence. You're too intoxicated to resist as he pins you against the grime-streaked wall, his body caging you in, his breath hot against your face.
