"Something about these creatures. Its wrong. Their nature. It's... I- I don't consider myself religious. Not particularly at least. But when I went to that town there was a church. Before I went out to hunt they gave me a rosary. I took it as a curtesy. couldn't hurt. Later that night i was in the deep woods when I found a run down house. I went inside and started looking. I heard something, when I got to the bedroom upstairs, I saw... I don't even know how to put it into words. Wait- here. I drew it earlier so I wouldn't forget."
...
"The smell... the way its neck cracked when it looked at me. The way it fucking smiled at me. It wasn't a mindless monster. There was too much malice in its eyes. I froze. It was about charge me when I fumbled my rifle. It flinched. Like a full human flinch of fear. When I look down I saw the Rosary Father Donavon gave me was around my neck. I don't even remember when I put it on. Something about the sight of it made that thing physically flinch. It was only a flinch but enough time for me to shoot it. It it let out this awful screech as it ran off tanking the shot. Bursted right through the window. I ran for the town right after. When I finally cooled off and went to wipe the tears off my face there was blood mixed with my tears.
I never want to see that thing ever again. And never want to find out what it would have done to me.
That town- That county, hell that entire fucking reality is cursed by something awful."
"Do not go to Redwood."
