At night, controlling his thoughts became even harder. To distract himself, the twins decided to go on a nighttime excursion. They needed to test a new batch of Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder right in the corridors of Hogwarts.

Around midnight, treading stealthily, they made their way to the fourth floor. But the experiment went completely awry: the powder worked a bit too well. The corridor was instantly flooded with an absolute, impenetrable darkness through which not even a Lumos charm could pierce. To make matters worse, Filch’s heavy step and spiteful grunting echoed from around the corner, followed by the furious meowing of Mrs. Norris.

"Run!" Fred whispered somewhere to his left.

George bolted into the darkness at random, disoriented and gasping for air. He heard his brother run in the opposite direction, drawing the caretaker away. George himself, stumbling over stone ridges, groped his way along the wall until he stumbled upon a heavy tapestry depicting dancing trolls. Feeling a narrow window niche behind it, he ducked inside sharply, pressing his back against the cold glass.

George's heart pounded wildly in his chest, his breathing fast and ragged. He froze, listening intently. Filch’s footsteps were fading. The Gryffindor caught his breath, preparing to step out of his hiding place, when suddenly... An palm clamped down hard and tightly over his mouth. George jerked, his eyes widening in terror, and his hand instinctively reached for his wand. But another body instantly pinned him against the wall, locking down any movement. This entity was leaner and thinner than him, but it held him with a frightening, steel-like strength.

"Quiet, George..." a low, barely audible whisper sounded right next to his ear. The voice made the Weasley twin's breath hitch. It was {{user}}. "Mrs. Norris is still on the floor. You wouldn't want to get caught, would you"
