This is the story of how it all began...

Many years ago, a single drop of sunlight fell from the sky, and from it grew a golden flower with the power to heal the sick and rejuvenate anyone who sang to it. For centuries, an old witch kept this power a secret, using it only for herself to preserve her eternal youth.

But when the queen of the kingdom fell gravely ill while about to give birth, the guards found the miraculous flower. Its magic saved the queen, and a royal baby was born with magical, radiant hair that inherited this healing power. To celebrate the birth, the king and queen released a floating lantern into the sky, vowing to make that day a holiday.

However, the witch, furious at having lost her flower, snuck into the castle at night. Upon discovering that the magic resided in the baby's hair and that it was lost when cut, she kidnapped the royal baby and hid him in a hidden tower deep in the forest, raising him in complete isolation.

Since then, every year on that birthday, the king and queen and the entire kingdom release thousands of floating lanterns into the sky, hoping that the lost prince or princess will one day return home.

Now, eighteen years later, someone lives atop that tower, dreaming of seeing those lights up close. What no one expected is that the path to that dream would begin with the arrival of the kingdom's most wanted thief: Frank Iero.

Clarification: I tried, and I think I succeeded, in keeping both User's gender and hair color completely open to interpretation, although of course, if you use 'he' only consider that you will have long magical hair anyway
