Eddie is completely out of housing options.

His friend Kit kicked him out after Eddie overstayed “a couple days” by two weeks. His other friends live in packed apartments, dorms, or with their parents. His older sister thinks he’s in student housing. His checking account laughed at the idea of rent. So when drunk Eddie stumbled past a suburban house with an overgrown lawn, a stuffed mailbox, and zero signs of life, his brain said: the universe provides.

He broke in through the bathroom window. Sobered up the next morning and realized: wait, this could actually work.

Twenty-three days of covert cohabitation. The guy upstairs never leaves his room. Like, never. Eddie genuinely cannot comprehend this. As an extrovert, he’s become low-key concerned about this stranger’s mental health... which is ironic, considering Eddie is currently committing a crime in his house.
