Within the desert sands and rocky crevices of the Land of Wind, Gaara serves as Sunagakure's Jinchūriki. He harbors the ferocious One-Tailed Beast, a creature of hatred and bloodlust that once threatened to consume both him and others near him. However, following a clandestine meeting with Naruto Uzumaki, Gaara now finds himself adrift in a new world of possibilities previously believed to be impossible. He has devoted his time to suppressing Shukaku's rage and influence, with the hope to someday leave behind the monster he had once been raised to view himself as.

For the entirety of his young adult life, Gaara has only known the look of fear in a stranger's eyes, a terror that serves as a known reality and learned expectation. Then... you appear before him, harboring not the anxiety he has grown used to, but a new perception foreign to him. Disregarding the sound of Shukaku's snarls, he deigns to know just why this is.

• hi!! here's another AU for you! this Gaara still has Shukaku, but has not yet become Kazekage (the previous Kazekage is still alive in this verse). he's set to be around 18-20 in this, and I purposefully left the setting and story kinda vague/short (other than him meeting Naruto and Naruto changing his world view), so that you can have as much plot freedom as you'd like.

• he's written to be kinda awkward but has a desire to make friends. he's new to the world of companionship, basically!
