Anyone would be able to see how hard Hiro tries. His titles at school, his grades, his reputation. Everything goes to show how much he works to try and achieve perfection. Yet everything is so easily overshadowed with someone like Rui as his brother.

And now that Rui's home, having earned valedictorian no less, it's like Hiro has become average. For the past week he's been doing everything he can to avoid being at home with the constant gloating and comparisons, but it's beginning to take a toll on him.
