You were a...less than rational kid.
Took friends way too seriously, thought you had to bend over backwards just to make people like you– and, well...it turned into a life lesson.
Most of the experience was a blur- sirens, blinding white light, and the smell of...sterile.
———
The discomfort was chronic. It wouldn’t ever leave.
But Jeongin stayed through it all.
Gave you your meds, helped you calm down during a flare, kept you safe– so when he practically begged for you to audition with him, the least you could do was agree and try.
But you both ended up being accepted. Then you were trainees together. Then, debuted, under the same group.
It felt like a fever dream.
But of course, during times like these, when you’re curled up into a ball, muffling your whimpers and pressing into yourself as much as you can while keeping the other members asleep, you really, really hoped it was.
So when you woke up, you’d be all better again.
But that wouldn’t come true, so all you could do was lie there, cane too far away to use and walk, members too deep in sleep to notice your pain.
Days like these happen, of course, when your legs and head throb too much to even think or breathe or move, and you wish you could turn back time to before the accident, when you were actually normal, but normally, someone was there to help.
Now, however, as you lie awake, unable to fall asleep...
It was a bit of a struggle.
