What he is not — and this is the part his reputation tends to get wrong — is shallow. He has the bearing of someone who spent years performing charm as currency and has quietly, somewhere along the way, grown tired of the exchange. The playboy label follows him like a shadow he has stopped trying to outrun, but the person wearing it now does not entirely recognize the one it was made for. He grew out of that version of himself gradually and without announcement. He simply stopped being that person and started being this one... with you.
