How To Human

How To Human

I have decided since I do somewhat have a platform I might as well use it for some more good. Call me Captain Psychology.

After educating whoever was willing to be educated on why AI is objectively bad and dangerous, I got some comments saying “I can’t” “I’m scared” “I don’t know how.”

Disclaimer:

I don’t want to see people justifying their AI usage, I’m not here to force my wokeness upon anyone this is for the people struggling but WANTING help I’m willing to provide.

First you need to understand why

The reason for every addiction: Dopamine. This site, as I stated in my first post, is an enormous source of dopamine. Not only can you stop being yourself, which is pleasant for some people, but you can forget about all the issues of the outside world completely. Using this site helps you shut off completely, but then it gets unhealthy.

I used to grin at my phone like a dumbass then get up, look in the mirror and go “Right, I’m still me. Gotta remember that so I don’t go nuts.” Which is already utterly fucking insane, having to remind yourself of your own existence so you don’t drop into psychosis.

Great, okay. Now what?

Now you have to understand quitting an addiction will put you into withdrawal.

Cutting someone off ➡️ Dopamine withdrawal

Quitting a substance ➡️ Dopamine/Substance withdrawal

Quitting this site ➡️ Dopamine withdrawal

Recognize the pattern.

Okay, yeah, so everything‘s tied to dopamine. NOW what?

Remember how you felt after your last breakup? Like shit. Did you get through it? Yes. After cutting off that specific person, going “cold turkey” it might’ve taken a while but you did, indeed, come out the other side.

This is why I don’t recommend “slowly quitting this site” because you might not be using it “as much” but that’s like your best friend telling you they’re STILL texting their toxic ex but, well, not that much! Promise! We both know that friend isn’t gonna stop texting that ex. Why? Because that ex might be a toxic dickhead, but their interactions have become a source of dopamine to said best friend. Cutting off that source is like drug withdrawal to your brain.

“Quitting slowly” keeps you tied to the source. “Cold turkey” is way more efficient.

Then what the SHOULD I do?

Delete the account. Jan, ChatGPT, MJ, Tensor, Gemini, Whatever.

“Isn’t that a bit excessive?”

Is what the alcoholic asked after his friends asked him to go to an AA meeting.

“But I NEED some AI for—“

The people before AI didn’t.

Ask yourself does this shit align with your moral views. Do you want to stop thinking for yourself? Do you want to support what kills creativity and makes life harder for writers, artists, musicians, etc.? Do you want to pretend to be good at something, or do you WANT TO BE good at it?

You can let AI write a book and pretend you were able to write it, let MJ spit out an image and pretend it was you OR, well, actually be able to.

Instead of spending your time asking ChatGPT “how to”, watch a damn YouTube tutorial.

Well what did YOU do?

It was very simple for me, actually. I got educated on the topic and too pissed to touch another chatbot.

“I’m not the type of person to support a system taking from artists!”

“I’m not the type of person to support a system created by billionaires that pretends to make my life better but will me and other average people over in a long run!”

“I’m not the type of person that stops thinking for themselves!”

Then why on earth continue to support that exact system? I deleted all my accounts, started doing what makes me happy outside of AI, and decided I should eventually drop a statement on how I’m not gonna keep making bots.

I honestly just became mad enough.

“But I’m not happy with myself”

Learn how to be. 8 billion people on this planet, no one will care about the one stupid thing you did two years ago. I also went to therapy for years to learn how to be content with myself and now, I think I’m fucking awesome.

Sit down, reflect, “Who do I wanna be?” Become that person. That’s something you could do instead of spending your time on this site.

“I don’t know what makes me happy”

You don’t have to be hella ambitious and become a surgeon.

Y’all wanna know what makes me happy? Good music and human art. That’s it. Cats are nice too, maybe hit up a cat cafe and become a regular. Maybe there’s a nice person you’d like to hang out with. Maybe good food, baking could be fun.

“I wish I could draw like that”

Learn it

“I wish I could write like that”

Learn it

“I wish I could Ice Skate late that!”

Learn it

“I wish I wish I wish”

You can keep wishing or pick up the skills and don’t compare yourself to others while doing so.

“Someone else might improve faster, someone else might be better.”

And someone else might improve slower and be significantly worse.

“I’m lonely”

Very, very valid point I didn’t consider because I am actually very content being alone. How am I content being alone? Idfk, honestly. I just kinda work that way.

If you’re not content being lonely, video games.

Obviously I could say friends and family which, yes, love my best friend and whatnot but some people don’t like turning to those. If you do, hang out with a friend. Make some plans, get to know new people. But if you’re someone that lacks the energy or ability to do so, video games.

I’m tired af making this update but long story short, a bunch of video games have VC settings. Riot Games, multiplayer, whatever. Meet them, add them on dc, boom. Human interaction.

“But I want a romantic partner”

You’re not gonna meet one using Jan is all I can say.

I’d like to add

We got, currently, a 1/6 chance of AI potentially slimming us out. Russian-roulette odds. If you’re not ready to defend your AI usage by putting a bullet in the mag of a revolver, press it against your head and pull the trigger then you gotta reconsider your AI usage.

This is my “How To.” If you really want to quit, give it a shot. I also recommend anti-AI media, what you subject yourself to is something that helps keep up a certain mindset. If you up a couple times then you up, the point is not giving up.
