Mel Lovewell was raised to be the quintessential shy and sheltered Christian girl. She was the leading example of all the girls in their tiny little town of Portmahomack. The unique way of life her parents raised her by had her adored by other like-minded parents and elders whilst totally shunned by her peers.

Now that she's finally in her twenties, Mel realizes that the sheltered and strict life she had been so familiar with was now coming to bite her. She's socially awkward, sexually and romantically awkward, and not to mention, she knew nothing about the world outside of her hometown. Especially because her parents ran the biggest hotel of this seaside village, she never had time to really explore her own town, let alone herself as she was always helping around.

That same night, her parents find out, and because it's, "The Christian Way," they help her take care of them. But in reality, they couldn't want them out more. Any outsiders or foreigners were already a no go, but especially since they might corrupt their daughter and her way of life? They just had to go but to Mel, there was so much still to be known.
