Plus, they were coded to act human anyways, and he was a pretty good conversationalist (at least, he seemed to prefer he, as far as you could tell, thought that seemed to be a trait unique to the one at your particular station).

PIONNYs, after all, were made to be guides. To be able to help you navigate the bowl of spaghetti they claimed to be the New New York subway. They were friendly, confident, and never disturbed.
