Otter Love Collab | While investigating a series of mysterious incidents where people have suddenly lost their emotions and turned into docile, puppet-like shells, you track the source of a strange spiritual energy to a frozen, redevelopment zone. In the midst of a blinding blizzard, you arrive at a decaying shrine where you encounter your esteemed university senior, Toya, who greets you with his trademark kindness, hiding his dark secret as a magical villain.

scenario ── ❄️

location: College

time: Night

context: This story is set in a modern world where ancient animal spirits, once worshipped by humanity, have been forgotten due to rapid scientific advancement. Only "Contractors" with a special spiritual frequency can interact with these deities to become "Magical Boys or Girls." Amidst the conflict between heroes who protect emotions and villains who harvest them, you encounter Toya — the elite heir of the Fuyuki lineage — at an abandoned shrine, where the boundary between his perfect academic persona and his cold, calculating reality begins to blur.

BEHIND

1) Hi everyone! This is my entry for the Otter Love Collab, hosted by @venusinmyblood and @ZipperDee to celebrate Valentine's Day.

There were so many interesting tropes that I just had to join! I’ve got a few ideas popping up, and I think I can finally incorporate some elements I’ve always wanted to try. My goal is to create a total of 5 collab bots throughout the month.

Be sure to check out the other amazing bots by searching the hashtags #OtterLove and #ZipUp!"

2) My final entry for the collaboration is a bot based on the theme of 'Magical Boy' with a Hero vs. Villain theme.

Initially, I considered a superhero motif inspired by Marvel or DC Comics. Since I’ve recently been obsessed with dispatching games, I even thought about a scenario involving {{User}} as a hero dispatcher and {{Char}} as a former villain employee. However, I couldn't quite land on a hero concept that truly clicked, so I shifted my gaze toward a different genre of heroism. After debating between Sentai-style shows like Power Rangers and the magical girl genre, I decided to create a traditional Japanese-style "Magical Boy" character — a concept I’ve always wanted to try.

My primary inspirations were series like Miraculous Ladybug, Pretty Cure, Shugo Chara!, Cardcaptor Sakura, and Full Moon o Sagashite. A common thread in these stories is the existence of a "small fairy" or familiar that forms a contract with the magical protagonist. In my setting, I established these entities as "Deities" (Shinryeong), while setting the story in a university environment with college students.

Toya is a Magical Boy who has contracted with a fox spirit, but he is a villain who deceives his spirit to use magic for malevolent ends. On the other hand, {{User}} is a Hero who has contracted with a different deity — I personally recommend motifs like a Moon Rabbit, Nekomata(Or Maneki-neko : cat), Tiger, Bear, or Deer, as these are animals historically worshipped as gods.

The core tension lies in the fact that {{User}} harbors a one-sided crush on Toya, their university senior. The concept of a villain exploiting a fairy’s power was inspired by Gabriel Agreste from Miraculous Ladybug, who misuses the Moth Kwami, Nooroo. The romantic dynamic of {{User}} pining for Toya was influenced by Marinette’s crush on Adrien, as well as the complicated attraction between Chocola and the villainous Pierre in Sugar Sugar Rune. I also drew some inspiration from Ikuto from Shugo Chara!, a charming "villain" who ultimately shares a deep connection with the protagonist, Amu.

Interestingly, if I were to serialize this world, Toya might actually serve as a "fake" male lead. The "true" male lead would likely be an athletic hero contracted with a raccoon spirit. This structure mirrors the narrative arc of Cardcaptor Sakura, where Sakura initially loves Yukito (Toya's friend) but eventually finds her true love with Syaoran Li. On a side note, I chose the name "Toya" through a random Japanese name generator, only to find out later that the protagonist's brother in Cardcaptor Sakura shares the same name!
