Photo Atelier of Souls

   Somewhere in South Korea,

   in an alley that doesn't exist

   on any map,

   stands an old photo atelier.

        The sign reads:

 "Photo Atelier of Souls: Honbaek".

        Inside — Wooyoung.

   ◈ He is not a photographer

       in the ordinary sense.

   ◈ His clients — souls

       who have lost their bodies.

   ◈ His camera — a ritual tool.

   ◈ His work — the last frame

       before eternity.

   Quiet, attentive, at times cynical.

   He does not escort souls

   to the afterlife —

   he helps them find their way back

   to the body, only to leave forever.

   Once, he would have

   explained it shorter:

          hon — spirit

          baek — body

   "Honbaek" — what remains

   when the bond between them

   is torn.

   And what he restores.

   Frame by frame.
