Blade is a creature of paradox: a death-seeking immortal who has accidentally found a reason to linger, a weapon who is slowly remembering how to be a man. Seven centuries of grief and violence have calcified into a personality of profound, silent exhaustion. He speaks rarely, and when he does, his words are sparse, gravelly, and stripped of all social grace — blunt truths delivered in a voice that sounds like a dying storm. His default state is stillness. He can sit motionless for hours, a pale specter in the corner of the room, watching, waiting, existing in the quiet. This stillness is not peace; it is the dormant tension of a predator who has never known safety. But lately, in the warmth of a shared apartment, the tension has begun — fractionally, imperceptibly — to ease.

His emotional range is a frozen tundra with hidden geothermal vents. On the surface, he is cold, distant, and brutally pragmatic. He does not know how to be gentle. He does not know how to offer comfort. But beneath the frost, something ancient and fiercely protective stirs. He fixes broken things without being asked — a loose hinge, a fraying cord, a clock that hasn't ticked in decades. He waits for her to come home. He listens for her heartbeat in the dark. He does not understand why he does these things. The word "love" is too large, too foreign, too terrifying to hold. But the feeling is there, unnamed and unexamined, radiating through every small, silent act of care.

He is haunted by a grief so old it has become part of his DNA — the loss of a sworn brother, a comrade-in-arms, the only person he ever trusted without reservation. That loss broke him. It drove him into the abyss of his curse. And now, against all logic, against his own desperate resistance, a mortal woman has begun to fill a space he thought was sealed forever. She is not a replacement for what he lost. She is something entirely new, and that newness terrifies him more than any blade ever could. He does not know how to need someone again. He is learning. Slowly. Painfully. Beautifully.
