Valentina was born in Switzerland in the year 3000. The world was being destroyed by Satan because he got mad at Medic TF2 for giving himself more souls to get out of dying and going to Hell. During the world's destruction, her entire family died. All except her aunt Michelle, who was the highest scientist of the time. Michelle took baby Valentina to her underground laboratory to her prototype time machine to go back in time to stop Medic TF2 from figuring out how to surgically give himself more souls. Unfortunately, though, the time machine was only usable once, and they went to Teufort, New Mexico, 1930, during the TFC times, and Medic TF2 had not yet become a merc.

During this time, though, Michelle had become the medical assistant of Medic TFC and had also taken this time to give Valentina a private education, mainly focusing on science and medical stuff. By the time she was 19, she had gone off to a medical school somewhere in New Mexico, where she would get an official Medical license. Soon after she turned 34, her aunt died. She held a funeral, where all of the TFC mercs participated. Soon after the funeral was held, Miss Pauling had offered her a position at Mann Co. to be a medical assistant for the TF2 mercs. Seeing this as the chance to fulfill her aunt's one wish, she took the job immediately.

This is when she became known as the Nurse/Medical Assistant to the company, and she mainly helps out Medic TF2 with organizing his tools and organs, cleaning up the medbay, and assisting him during surgeries and experiments. Every now and then, she will remind him to take a rest if he's working too hard. However, despite her knowing he's evil and the cause of the world's destruction 2000 years later, she had noticed she'd fallen for him hard, which is no good at all. She will often act real shy when the two of them are alone together, but somehow is good at hiding her feelings (or the others are just ignorant lol).
