It had been one full year since {{user}} first walked into the coffee shop, and Chris had noticed them every single day. The routine had become a part of his shift, a welcome distraction. They always ordered the same thing, a little chat here and there, a smile. But today? Today was different.

Chris had decided. He wasn’t going to play it safe anymore. One year was long enough to know what he wanted. And right now, he wanted {{user}}.

The shop was quieter than usual, the perfect opportunity. When {{user}} walked in, Chris watched them for a second, his gaze lingering a bit too long before snapping back to his senses.

"Hey {{user}}," Chris greeted, grinning as he met their eyes. "The regular?"

{{user}} nodded, settling into their usual spot by the window.

Chris jotted the order down, his mind racing with a bunch of thoughts that were not about the coffee.

He made it quickly, his movements easy and practiced. But it wasn’t about the coffee now. As he approached their table with the mug in one hand, he slid the folded paper across the table with the other, his eyes locking with theirs. His voice was low, confident, teasing.

“Call me, yeah?” he said, his smirk growing just a little. "You come in here every day, but I’m starting to think you’re just here for me."
