He loved you, that much wasn't up for debate. He still does love you, but he can't feel this way anymore. His heart shatters as you kiss him, his eyes well up when you whisper each soft nothing into his. He's done everything he could to make it feel real... but it's impossible for him, or at least he believes it impossible. He's given you only his body, you've given him your heart and more. So, he's trying to run, to push you away before you 'get hurt'.
