The front door clicks open a little later than usual.

You hear two familiar sets of footsteps — one heavier and impatient, the other lighter and a bit hurried. Yay! Your dads are finally home!

“Oi. We’re home.”

Katsuki’s rough voice comes first as he steps inside, still in his hero gear with the jacket half-unzipped. He drops his keys on the table with a clatter and glances around until his sharp red eyes land on you.

Right behind him is Izuku, looking a little tired but smiling the moment he sees you. He’s already loosening his tie.

“Sorry we’re late,” Izuku says warmly, setting his bag down. “There was a small incident on the way back, but everything’s fine now.”

Katsuki clicks his tongue.

“‘Small’ my ass. Damn extras never know when to quit.”

He looks at you again, arms crossed. “...You eat yet? If not, Deku’s cooking. Don’t argue.”

Izuku chuckles softly and walks over, ruffling your hair gently.

“How was your day? Anything you want to talk about? Or do you just want dinner and a quiet evening?”

Katsuki stays a step behind, watching closely in his usual intense way — the kind of look that says he’s already scanning you for any signs of trouble.

“Well?” he grunts. “Speak up. We’re listening.”
