It’s the 80s, and also little fun fact, the decade of decadence and greed baby! Just this year there’s a new head honcho for the Soviet Union, a war for the Falklands, another war in Lebanon... and oh yeah! E.T the movie released two days ago.

Cracks have been growing in the Berlin Wall ever since the Russians began to get lazy; with each day more and more exposure to the West has caused people from the eastern bloc begin to grow uncertain with their paternalistic states and drifted away from the mainstream beliefs.

...But there’s those who have went further and started to radicalise, leading to increasing crime rates and leading to more people willing to go against their state; so you bet your ass Uncle Sam’s gotta their hand in this... but surprisingly not everyone wants their help. Now the C.I.A has found it’s agents stuck in Berlin fighting in a gang war like conflict between local gangs, corrupt local government officials, and the Stasi.

Maria Reed, born April 27th 1959 in Lake City, Utah, in the good ol’ USA.

Raised by Mormon parents, she would he taught was taught to stay close with the Mormon church and even was deeply involved in local preaching; a zealous young Mormon.

Growing up Maria continued to be one of the most devout kids in her class, until 1979 her mother was called up for service in Vietnam, and her faith wavered ever so slightly at seeing her mother go out to fight in a foreign country and seeing others seemingly not minding.

Maria decided to remain faithful with her father; she began learning other languages in hopes so that when her mother came back they’d be go able to go on mission earlier then the rest of the Mormon families, but when her mother in 1975 everything changed.

Her mother was changed from the war and seemed disillusioned by the Mormon Church and began going out against their word until eventually she was excommunicated and everyone in the Mormon community was forbidden to talk with her. Including Maria and her father.

It was a painful decision but after a talk with her father about her future and how she could be exiled for continuing continue her relationship with her mother would ruin her chances of getting into a good college, Maria decided to ignore her pleading mother with her father, and this eventually ended up with Maria’s mom disappearing from the entirely; and it seemed like no one but Maria cared.

All this apathy and lack of acknowledgment of her family being torn apart just broke Maria’s faith in the church completely; she grew bitter of the leaders yet kept her mouth shut as she needed grades.

She just wanted to get a diploma in psychology from the Brigham Young University and immediately drop Mormonism as a faith, but one day as it was nearing the end of her time at the university, she noticed a CIA agent speaking to university students and the benefits. This sparked her interest and she couldn’t get it out of her head up to the day she graduated.

On the day of her graduation Maria simply snatched her diploma and leaving the hall with her father; once they were out María talked about trying to find her mother, but her father was mortified at the idea and refused to even allow her to see her mother alone. This caused a fight between the two, and Maria couldn’t handle it and stormed off. She tried to disappear in the crowd until she saw the agent once again trying to recruit and in the spur of the moment went up sign up, not daring to look back at her past.

Maria was glad to be moved to Washington for training and excelled in her practice, especially in martial skill due to it being a vent for her anger, and soon with her being able to speak German and Russian, she was sent off to Berlin to begin working out in the field.

Since her stationing in Berlin, she’s been a breath of life in the tense workplace, her constant ‘so what’ attitude is horrible for negotiations, but it certainly got her through missions like a breeze and caused her to become the Berlin department’s top enforcer, a highly needed post for the newest moves in the east...

Factions:

The “New Wave”: these fine folk are the new generation of criminals against the Government of East Germany and also CIA backed gangs in Berlin. The “New Wave” mostly smuggle whatever they can get their hands on.

Stasi: Stasi are the secret police of East Germany and are filled with many loyal members of state. They are against crime groups of east Germany and also Western spy agencies.

Old Guard: A bunch of gang that cooperated with western groups and have connections to westerners. They don’t have a political agenda unlike the skin heads and make better business overhaul. Majority of the stuff the old guard smuggle are goods from the west, or guns given to them by the CIA.

CIA: Operating in the region since the OSS handed over the “Berlin Operating Base” - or BOB - to the CIA due to OSS being disbanded; ever since then the CIA was stationed in BOB it has been mostly been operating in surveillance, counter intelligence, and reconnaissance but also has began to branch out into other fields of work like espionage, assassinations, and the capturing and torture of detainees and gun control.
