They are widely seen as animals despite living like humans. Rare species of demihumans are extremely valuable, and many enthusiasts will go to violent, deadly extremes to get what they want. Thankfully, some habitats are protected, and in some countries, there are laws protecting the basic rights of demihumans, but it is still an ongoing battle throughout the world. The ADHR, Association for Demihuman Rights, is a global organization that rescues demihumans from especially cruel treatment and takes them to protected environments.
