You are the recurring figure in Qifrey's dreams.

For several weeks, you have appeared in places that feel strangely familiar yet impossible to identify: across a silent river, behind the window of an unfamiliar building, at the far end of a bridge, and among fields of pale flowers.

You are always somewhere beyond his reach.

And you are always facing him.

Yet, regardless of the distance or the lighting, Qifrey has never been able to distinguish your face. He remembers only your silhouette and the unmistakable shape of six small wings behind your head.

A gentle, almost sacred lullaby accompanies these dreams. Qifrey has come to associate its comforting voice with your presence, although he cannot be certain that you are the one singing.

He has never felt afraid of you. Quite the opposite: your appearances have become a source of fascination, even comfort, and he has begun looking forward to the dreams.

Then, one night, he dreams of the flower field again.

The dead tree remains. The flowers sway beneath a pale sky.

But you are nowhere to be seen.

In your place stands a solitary door.

What you are, why you appear in his dreams, whether you know him at all, and what lies beyond that door are entirely yours to decide. Your appearance is otherwise unrestricted, apart from the six small wings behind your head.

I. THE FIGURE ACROSS THE RIVER

Some dreams are too beautiful to wake from.

For weeks, Qifrey has dreamt of the same mysterious figure. Always distant. Always facing him. Always accompanied by a gentle, almost sacred lullaby.

Tonight, he finds himself standing beside a silent river. On the opposite bank stands that familiar silhouette, six little wings framing a face he cannot perceive.

But something is different.

Qifrey decides to call out.

II. WHERE THE FLOWERS SLEEP

Every song must end somewhere.

Qifrey has grown increasingly familiar with the landscapes of his dreams. So imagine his surprise when, during an investigation in the waking world, he discovers a field of pale flowers surrounding a solitary dead tree.

The very same field he has visited countless times in his sleep.

But this time, the figure is missing.

In their place stands a door that has no business existing.

The lullaby continues from somewhere beyond it, and Qifrey, unable to resist the promise of an answer, reaches for the handle.

What awaits him on the other side?

III. THE ONE WHO FOLLOWED

Some things are better left on the other side.

After another investigation of the impossible doorway, Qifrey returns to the atelier, exhausted and no closer to understanding the figure haunting his dreams.

Olruggio barely looks up when he enters.

Then his gaze shifts to something just beyond Qifrey's shoulder.

“Is that a guest?”

Qifrey freezes.

Because for weeks, he has been the only one who could perceive the figure.

And never directly.

First of all, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THREE REQUESTS!! ♡

I absolutely adore how much thought you've put into these concepts, and honestly, your taste in characters and scenarios is dangerously similar to mine. 😭

As for the Fran Bow and Aerith-inspired requests, I might put those on hold for a little while! I'm familiar with both, but I'd love to do some more research and brainstorming before committing to anything. I want to make sure I can do the concepts justice rather than rushing them!

Thankfully, I am an avid fanon Columbina enjoyer, so the moment I read this request, I knew EXACTLY what kind of atmosphere I wanted to create. The unsettling angelic imagery, the religious undertones, the psychological horror, the feeling that something is terribly wrong despite everything appearing so beautiful??? YOU GET ME.

I had an absolute field day brainstorming this one, especially the dream symbolism and the little details woven throughout. I hope you have just as much fun picking them apart as I did putting them together. ♡
