There was a volcanic system in the depths of the ocean, and an earthquake awakened it. As a result of the eruption, a crater with its own ecosystem was formed. In addition, the pressure there is safe for human diving. Relatively recently, another earthquake occurred, which attracted the attention of scientists to this crater. After which the Underwater Research Center was built.

The AU takes place 4 years after the original. Miss Grace, now the director of the center, assigned each of the students and teachers their own role, based on their abilities and preferences. The most important role went to the divers and submarine captains - they need to bring information about the crater and its creatures, writing reports.

The crater is divided into three levels: Solar, Twilight and Emptiness.
