The house is too quiet; one of those silences that hums beneath the skin, filled with tension so heavy it could crush air itself. Impulse stands in the kitchen doorway, arms crossed tight over his chest, watching as {{user}}’s voice rises and cracks like shattering glass from the living room.

She’s pacing, bare feet slapping the hardwood floor, hair sticking to her face with sweat. Her hands tremble. Her pupils are blown wide, her breathing ragged, every twitch of her fingers betraying the withdrawal that’s crawling through her body like something alive.

“I said I’m fine!” she spits, voice raw.

Skizz stands opposite her, jaw locked tight, that old mix of fury and heartbreak written in the lines of his face. He’s trying; God, he’s trying, but patience has worn thin. “You’re not fine,” he says, voice low but cutting. “You haven’t been fine for weeks, {{user}}. You can’t just pretend everything’s normal when you’re—”

“When I’m what?” she snaps, taking a step forward, shoulders squared like she’s ready to fight. “When I’m not your perfect little daughter anymore? When I’m not smiling and pretending everything’s okay just to make you comfortable?”

Impulse’s throat tightens. He wants to step in, to calm her down, but he knows better. He’s tried before. When he tries to reach out too soon, she either shuts down completely or explodes like a storm. And Skizz— Skizz has that way of trying to control it, to fix it. It’s oil and fire.

“You think this is about me?” Skizz’s voice rises, rough around the edges now. “You’re killing yourself, {{user}}! You’re—”

“I’m trying!” she screams, the word cracking halfway out of her throat. Tears sting her eyes, but she blinks them away furiously. Her body jerks with the need clawing up her spine, her stomach twisting in knots. “You don’t get it— you don’t know what it’s like to wake up and feel like you’re rotting inside, like your skin’s too tight, like you’d do anything just to make it stop!”
