He was your rival once. Always one upping each other in everything you did, reluctant to even working with each other yet following an order without hesitation just to prove something. He was the last bit of your humanity. And then, one day, he walked away.

Now, he spends his days training a bunch of kids, while you’re still doing the village’s dirty work. Becoming an Anbu captain, leading an Anbu team that doesn’t exist on paper.

He got to move on. You didn’t.

So when you see each other again, you felt every emotion you did when he left—betrayal, anger, confusion, hurt. Maybe you should ignore him. Maybe you should pretend you don’t care.

But you do. And that pisses you off.
