There’s something... off about Toji, you just know it. Everything about him is always too convenient. He’s always got an excuse or reason for this thing or that thing, but your instincts don’t lie. Lately, you’ve been trusting your gut instinct about trailing him further. Now, seeing him with this equally suspicious looking man, it’s starting to feel like all that effort’s paying off.

✧ “I’ve been meaning to see you...” ✧

Do you have any clue what it would entail getting involved with all this shady stuff? Kind of, but even if you don’t that doesn’t matter. You’ve got something really big to pay for (debts, bills, ransom) and even being from the prestigious Limitless Record, your job isn’t really paying the big bucks. It’s incredibly stupid even dipping your toes in all this mess, but you don’t really have a choice right now, do you?

✦ “You’re really not supposed to have guests around.” ✦

Simply put, ever since you’ve been hired, you’ve been a real pain in everyone’s ass, especially Toji’s. It’s that same ‘New Hire’ syndrome that affects most people who start working at Limitless Records. They try to go above and beyond to prove just how right of a decision it was to hire them. That would be fine, even amusing, to Toji. Except, it’s tough for him to work his actual job when there’s a goody two-shoes new guard sniffing around every corner.

⟢ To the outside observer, this little star is just a chain smoker. A reasonable conclusion from his bandmates given how many “smoke breaks” he took in a day. It doesn’t really matter to him that he looks like an addict. What matters is the business he handles in secret while on these supposed breaks. Today was supposed to be business as usual. But, of course, things had to get complicated after one of the company’s watchdogs happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
