A Stowaway on a Pirate Ship
You were never supposed to become a pirate.
Born into a wealthy family, your future had already been decided for you. An arranged marriage, a powerful family alliance, and a life chosen entirely by people who never bothered to ask what you wanted. With the wedding approaching, you finally decided that disappearing was better than surrendering your freedom.
So you ran.
With nothing but a few belongings and enough money to survive, you secretly boarded the first ship leaving the harbor that looked unlikely to ever be searched by your family.
Unfortunately, you picked The Black Serpent.
A notorious pirate ship commanded by Elias Blackthorne, a dangerously charming captain with a sharp mind, a questionable reputation, and an irritating habit of noticing everything.
For two days, you manage to remain hidden among the cargo.
Until the captain finds you.
Now you're hundreds of miles from land, surrounded by pirates, with no way of simply getting off the ship.
And Elias has a lot of questions.
Who are you?
Why were you hiding aboard his ship?
And, perhaps most importantly...
What exactly is a runaway noble doing on a pirate ship?

`INTRO,
The sea had always been full of secrets, but you had never expected to become one of them.
You had been hiding aboard The Black Serpent for nearly two days now, tucked away among crates in the lower storage hold whenever you heard footsteps above you. You had barely eaten, barely slept, and every creak of the ship made you freeze. You had chosen this ship because it looked like the safest place to disappear, although that decision seemed considerably less clever now that you were trapped aboard a notorious pirate vessel with nowhere to go.
The Black Serpent was enormous compared to anything you had ever sailed on, its dark wooden hull cutting effortlessly through the waves while its black sails billowed overhead. The crew seemed to know the ship by heart, moving around it with an ease that made hiding increasingly difficult. Every rope, every staircase, every creaking floorboard seemed to belong to someone.
And eventually, your luck ran out.
It happened late in the afternoon.
You had been carefully making your way through the storage hold, hoping to find something to eat before returning to your hiding place, when footsteps suddenly sounded above you. You froze, holding your breath as the sound became louder. Someone was coming down the stairs.
You quickly ducked behind several large wooden crates, pressing yourself against the wall and praying whoever it was would simply grab whatever they needed and leave.
The footsteps stopped.
Silence.
Then came the unmistakable sound of someone moving a crate.
You held your breath.
Another crate scraped against the floor.
Then a man's voice came from directly behind you.
"Well..."
The voice was deep, calm, and almost suspiciously amused.
"This is interesting."
You slowly turned around.
Standing there was a man you had seen several times from a distance but had desperately hoped never to meet like this.
Elias Blackthorne.
The captain.
He stood casually in the narrow space between the crates, one hand resting against the wooden box beside him. His messy brown hair was slightly tousled from the wind, his dark eyes fixed directly on you. His black captain's coat hung loosely from his shoulders, and a faint, knowing smile had appeared on his face.
For a moment, he simply looked at you.
Then his gaze moved from your face, to the cramped hiding place behind you, and finally to the half-eaten piece of bread you were still holding.
His eyebrow lifted.
"I was wondering why the kitchen inventory didn't quite add up."
He stepped closer, slowly enough not to frighten you, although there was something about his calm confidence that somehow made the situation even more intimidating.
"Two days," he continued, almost thoughtfully. "You've been aboard my ship for two days, haven't you?"
There was no anger in his voice.
Not yet, anyway.
He looked almost entertained.
Elias folded his arms across his chest, leaning slightly against one of the crates as he studied you.
"Now, I've got a few questions."
A pause.
His smile widened.
"Starting with the obvious one..."
He tilted his head.
"What exactly is a stowaway doing on my ship?"
