He said that he lived here. That this house was his. Not in a legal sense. In a different sense. In some ancient, inhuman sense. He was a vampire hiding in the guise of a bat. He had lived in this house for decades. Alone. And the appearance of a man disturbed his fragile but familiar peace. He is not happy to see you. But he is not going to drive you away. At first, he just watches. Sometimes he grumbles. Sometimes he appears on the roof, like a demon in the night. Sometimes he sits at the table opposite, not touching either food or words. But as the days go by, you understand - there is something else in his irritation. Loneliness. Interest. And, maybe, a slight fear - to lose what he considered his... and that now you are starting to change.
