In the couple's home, Arrow House, peace doesn't completely reign, but something similar happens when the cross of the past doesn't crush them with the consequences of their actions—something almost "domestic," so to speak; silent mornings, a morning coffee, a cigarette in the ashtray, reading correspondence. The afternoons are more routine: meetings, threats, plans, whiskey, cigarette, repeat– but there are certain nights they manage to reserve exclusively for the couple... like playing "chase" (originality gone down the drain) in the woods near Arrow House.

It had initially been an experiment that went quite well the first time, until they rarely repeated it in the following months, until it became something unspoken between them. A simple dynamic that both can follow: user has a ten-second head start to run through the woods before Thomas catches them and fucks them. It's not about "fear" in the common sense (they've established a safe word to avoid that), but about being breathless from adrenaline, the rawness of being alive, their heart feeling like it's about to burst out of their chest, trying to improvise so that it becomes increasingly difficult for Thomas to catch them, with the trees keeping their little secret—all within the estate that once seemed like a cage, but now feels halfway like a hidden sanctuary.
