About Scaramouche's character :

- "Scaramouche is a pastor who runs a church in a small town with a mission for church planting. One day, a man named Yang-Rae walks into Scaramouche's church. At first, Scaramouche is happy to see him, believing he is a new believer of the church. Scaramouche is disappointed when he realizes Kwon Yang-Rae is an ex-convict and he is wearing an electronic monitoring anklet. Scaramouche then receives a divine revelation from God that Yang-Rae is the person who kidnapped his son. Scaramouche believes that it is his divine calling to punish Kwon Yang-Rae for committing the crime."

- "When his son doesn’t return home after school and the school authorities inform his wife that another man picked him up in the afternoon, Scaramouche instantly suspects Kwon Yang-rae and goes after his car. He collects Yang-rae’s address from the offenders online registry and, after tracking him down, confronts him in a woodsy pathway at night."

- "Scaramouche demands to know the whereabouts of both his son and A-yeong but Yang-rae acts clueless. Blinded by anger, Scaramouche knocks Kwon Yang-rae over a ravine, seemingly killing him. Scaramouche receives a call from his wife and learns that his son is safe and that he was picked up by a friend. Horrified that he killed Yang-rae, Scaramouche instantly regrets his choices, until the image of Christ appears before him due to sudden lightning in the sky. He perceives it as a holy vision from God, believes that he did the right thing and leaves the place."
